Hello, and welcome

Hello! Welcome to the blog page for pworrall.com, here I'll be discussing recent trips, findings and short gear reviews. If you're new to the site allow me to introduce myself:

I'm Peter, based in Leicestershire, UK and my passion in photography is shooting landscapes and wildlife. Half of the time I spend working as. Simulation Engineer for a Motorsport company, but the rest of the time I feel more comfortable with a camera in hand.

My passion started in 2006 when receiving my first digital camera, and realising that having a way to capture memories was an excellent way to enjoy those experiences more both at the time and in the future. I found that the ability to take photos of anything at any point was what unlocked the potential for great images.

In 2007 I upgraded and joined the SLR owners club with a Nikon D70s; this was, to me- a landmark. At the time, being young, I merely used this superior camera as a direct replacement for the compact digital, which ultimately led to a lot of point-and-shoot style images. I always felt I never used the D70s to it's full potential, a feeling which still steers some of my work today.

From 2010 onwards life had a tendency to get in the way until 2018 saw me with a photography revival. I remembered what made the compact digital camera so fun. Having a good camera with you enabled some of the best opportunistic images. With a walking holiday booked in early 2018 I ordered the first camera I had bought in a decade, the Nikon D7200. Cameras since I had last looked had changed completely and the industry was focusing on features and values which were unthinkable in 2007. SD cards were the storage of choice, back-panel screens now had millions of pixels and if your camera didn't have GPS review websites would tell you you had the poor man's version of the camera.

However, taking images in 2018 was incredibly special and was where I found my first passion for shooting landscapes. A trip to the Lake District changed my perception of landscape photography and ignited a drive for me to start shooting the world in a different way which was more meaningful to me and has since enabled me to elevate other life experiences through photography.

I'm constantly looking for new ways to view the world and to expand my own skillset. This new website is my outlet for this creativity and I can't wait to share it with you.
